Recommended when speed of the electric motors is controlled by frequency inverters.
Force Ventilation Units consist of a special fan cover where a fan is driven by an independent electric motor.
The terminal box for the fan motor is mounted on top of the fan cover.
The independent fan is designed to provide the same (or more) cooling air that is normally delivered by the
motors' shaft fan at the rated speed.
Motors own fan becomes inefficient at low speeds, whereas the force ventilation unit blows the required amount of air independently on the motor's speed.
The degree of protection is IP66.

Various lengths of Fan Cover are available depending on the number of accessories fitted on the motor (brake, encoder, brake & encoder):

Motor frame sizes 225, 250, 280, 315 & 355 are available with Factory Standard Force Ventilation Units or with WISTRO Units.
Overall length of motors fitted with WISTRO units is slightly shorter when compared with motors fitted with the Standard Units.
The Factory Force Vent Units are suitable for ATEX (Zone2, Zone21, Zone22) force ventilated motors.
